He was selected to play for the U.S. hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, as starting goaltender. He won a silver medal with the team and was named MVP of the tournament. Later in 2010, he would win the Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender in the 2009–10 NHL season.
