Gordon Daniel Hayward (born March 23, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball at Butler University in Indianapolis for two seasons before leaving for the NBA. Hayward emerged as a superstar in his sophomore (second) year, leading his team to a runner-up finish in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. He was selected by the Utah Jazz with the ninth overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.

Gordon Scott Hayward, Hayward's father, is 5'10" (1.78 m). Hayward's mother, Jody, is the same height. According to sports commentator Pat Forde, Hayward's father "continually pushed his son to develop a guard's skill set," believing he was destined to be of average size. Forde refers to Hayward as "The guy who learned how to play like a guard but now has the size of a power forward."
Gordon Hayward's wife Robyn's maiden name is Robyn Van Vliet. She attended Bishop Chatard High School in Indiana graduating in 2013. Her family works with a school in Magdalena, Guatemala and it's for children and adults there to learn carpentry, art, baking, etc. As a result of their close ties to the country, Robyn has an adopted sister, Maggie –who joined her family when she was a baby from Guatemala.
Though Robyn's height is only 5'5″, she was an amazing defensive specialist. She was ranked the fourth player in Indiana during her senior season. Unfortunately, she did not pursue collegiate volleyball. Robyn Hayward has always been a philanthropist, handing out food to the needy with members of her church. They got engaged on Christmas Eve and got married on May 24, 2014, at St. Simon the Apostle Church in Indianapolis.
