- Born on 8th of April,1986 Santo Domingo, Dominican, is a Dominican professional baseball player playing with Cleveland Indians. He is a designated hitter, first baseman and left fielder. His father was a shoulder and mother a doctor. He was growing up along with five sisters and two brothers. At the age of 15, Carlos's parents started divorce proceedings. After this Carlos Santana took a difficult decision to live with his mother and sisters and baseball as his career. He became a father to his sisters to communicate with them. He had to pursue the baseball as a career due to earn money to buy a house for his mother. After joining Los Angeles Dodgers Santana became able to purchase a house for his mother using a part of his bonus money. Gradually, baseball became his passion and he makes him famous in it. Santana being a tribal player impressed in debut. Currently, his two younger sisters stay with his mother where his other siblings are married and living on their own.
