Kevin Pietersen a English cricketer is born on 27 June 1980 in South Africa. He is a right-handed batsman and occasional off spin bowler. He made his first-class debut for Natal in 1997 before moving to England, after voicing his displeasure at the racial quota system in place in South Africa. His English mother made him eligible to play for England. He is an important player for the English cricket team. Four years playing at county level, he was called up almost immediately into the national side. He made his international debut in the One Day International match against Zimbabwe in 2004. and his Test match debut in the 2005 Ashes series against Australia the following year. He was the captain of the England Test and ODI teams from 4 August 2008 to 7 January 2009 but resigned after just three Tests and nine ODIs, following a dispute with England coach Peter Moores. His relationship with the English Cricket Board never fully recovered. Pietersen annouced his retirement from all forms of international limited-overs cricket on 31 May, 2012. Although he later retracted his retirement, his relationship with both the ECB and his team-mates soured during the series against South Africa. Finally he was dropped for the final Test of that series. Pietersen's wife is Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor. This couple married on 29 December 2007 at St Andrew's Church in Castle Combe, Wiltshire, with former England team-mate Darren Gough. Jessica gave birth to the couple's first child, a baby son Dylan, on 11 May 2010. Pietersen made a dash back across the Atlantic, from where he was on tour with the England side, in Barbados, West Indies, in a bid to be present at the birth. He arrived at the hospital just in time for the birth. On the arrival of his son, Kevin said "This really is the most amazing experience of my life.
