Rafael Nadal (Rafa) was born on June 3, 1986, on the Balearic Island in Spain. His father was a businessman with interests in Insurance, Manufacturing, and Eateries. His mother, María Parera was a trader who used to sell perfumes before his birth.
His sister, María Isabel is five years younger than Rafael. Her sister studied Motor and Sport Sciences at the INEFC center. She stayed in Barcelona after completing her graduation to complete her master’s degree in Sports Management at the Pompeu Fabra University. After completing her studies, Maribel joined Duet Sports, a sports management company. She also previously worked with IMG, where she was involved in organizing three editions of the ATP Barcelona. Between October 2014 and June 2015 she went to London and worked with Banca Santander.

During the age of 4, his uncle Tony Nadal gifted him a racket that was fitted for his frail body and had his favorite colors. Attracted by the gift, Rafael gradually accorded more attention to Tennis. Nadal began winning the Tennis championship at the age of 8. His then-girlfriend used to study in the same school as he did. They went to school together and grew up in the same hometown of Mallorca. He kept his relationship news very secret until 2007.
“My nephew always maintained he was single,” Rafael’s coach and uncle Toni Nadal reportedly told The Daily Mail, then-called Mail on Sunday. “It was a well-kept secret but actually his girlfriend is waiting for him in Majorca.”
